OPTION 1 Sanguang River area: 

First, choice, weather permitting. Start either at the Sileng Hot Spring main campground OR an alternative option I know near Mingchi Recreation Area. Trace to this fork, push deep into a valley we have not yet explored with camping gear. Find a base camp, continue deeper in on the second day, come out the third day (Monday).

OPTION 2 Taian area:

First backup, if weather is no good for option 1. Combination of several different traces in one river system including:

Over the Shuiyun Waterfall, to Monkey Falls, and beyond

Past the Shuiyun Waterfall upstream along the main river, taking the right fork to Tall Falls, pushing deep into the interior

Possible intermediate (but FUN!) left fork extension here and beyond!

In this plan, we camp Friday Night right at Shuiyun Waterfall, Saturday at Tall Falls (which should allow us to push much futher and then return to that point, optional extension trying to get to several tiers of Tall Falls and above), Sunday further downstream (several options based on logistics at the time, possibly camping at the main fork or even above Shuiyun).

Option 3 Dragon's Palace (beyond Double Dragon and Danlong Waterfalls (detailed blog post):

If weather is no good at options 1 and 2. (Dragon's Palace video 1, Dragon's Palace video 2).

In this option, we camp Friday night at the trailhead, Saturday at the Over The Top campsite (see map), come out Sunday and do some pick-up tracing in the region Monday.
