IMPORTANT:

Please install Gaia GPS (free, or use The Map Room's discount link if you want the paid version) or another GPS tracking app like Hiking Biji on your phone and download the GPX files from the GPX library so that you know where we are going and what is where. You can find them under S for Sileng. 

Itinerary:

• Meet at the Sileng hot Spring trailhead (Google Maps link)
• Hike (NOT TRACE) down to Sileng Main Campsite
• Everyone staying overnight pitches their tents. Everyone else hangs out for a bit.
• Head down to the hot spring. Enjoy for a bit - we aren't coming back!a
• Enjoy for a bit - we aren't coming back!
• Trace downstream to a cool jump spot with beautiful, natural tiger stripes
• Trace further down, SWIMMING THROUGH DEEP WATER and beautiful terrain, to Jiaolong Waterfall
• Up, over, and down some serious ropes - these are steep, maybe just a bit more difficult than the most serious ones at Gaoyi (see blog post here). Hopefully everyone can get across, if not we will send a group back upstream guided by more capable tracers. This is what separates the beginners from the intermediates.
• Those who get across continue downstream (it's easy) to an uphill exit. We meet the road here and drive back.

GEAR:

•  Proper tracing shoes REQUIRED
• Helmets STRONGLY ENCOURAGED
• Life jackets if you are not strong swimmers
• Lunch that you can bring with you to eat in the river
• Waterproof bags will be a huge help. DO NOT plan to carry your lunch in your hands!
• Waterproof phone cases will be extremely helpful
• Clothes that can get wet, dirty, torn, etc, and you can swim in
