A bike ride through Taiwan's exotic and beautiful countryside rice paddies at sunset inspires me to reflect on the deeper meaning and hidden nature of things.

It was spring and I was riding my bike home through the Taiwanese countryside after work. Late afternoon had begun fading into early evening as I passed through one of the most beautiful sections of my regular route, and I couldn't help but be captivated with how still, mirror-like and peaceful the water was in the rice paddies. I stopped my ride for a while and stared, spellbound at the beauty which surrounded me. At first, it was just the uniqueness of the setting, but as I pulled out my camera and started trying to capture the magic of that place in time, the whole experience grew into so much more.
